1980's Heavy Metal

As Spinal Tap would say, turn your speakers up to "eleven" for this straight forward audio quiz on heavy metal acts like Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Scorpions, Mötley Crüe, and Judas Priest. We'll stay away from the hair bands of the late 80's like White Lion and Winger. (Disclaimer: I am not responsible for neck injuries incurred while banging your head to this quiz.)

This quiz is about music from 1982. Do you remember all the teenage girls going crazy over Rick Springfield? Everybody was playing Pac-Man, and there was even a song called "Pac-Man Fever". The song was a top ten hit for Buckner & Garcia. "Yesterday's Songs" was a big hit that year for Neil Diamond. Everybody knows how this goes. I will provide the questions and you will be required to provide the answers. Hopefully you know a little something about music from the early 80's, If you do, then this quiz should be a breeze. 1980's British New Wave

Great Britain was ground zero for the transition from punk to new wave music in the early to mid 1980's. I'll give you some clues and a sound clip, and you simply choose the correct U.K. new wave artist. If the Psychedelic Furs, Haircut 100, and Boomtown Rats are not in your vocabulary, you may want to scroll to the next quiz. We're going to dig a little deeper than Duran Duran and The Culture Club on this one. If you watched MTV in its early days, have no fear - this may be just your thing!
