The End of an Era!
As a Red Sox fan I am of mixed feelings about the departure of Manny Ramirez! Although he was the starting point for this teams turn around in success he has also been a thorn in their side! Manny never appreciated how much the fans loved him. No matter what he did on the field! We loved the way he smiled and had fun, but did not like his constant nonchalance and seeming who cares attitude! but he is also one of the greatest hitters of this generation and one of the greatest hitters EVER! His numbers rival those of Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth just to pull a few names out of a hat! Also the invaluable combination of Manny and Ortis in the lineup was unbelievable in it's production. particularly in the post season. As the season went on though I think the team including his teammates got tired of defending Manny's antics and it was wearing on everyone! So something had to be done! I find it unfortunate that he could not leave Boston like a gentleman and instead had bad words for the team and city that has tolerated his antics, applauded his amazuing hitting, and loved his smile! Hopefully Mr. Jason Bay will play passionate baseball and make an effort always to hustle and do his best! Perhaps if Manny had he would still be in boston!

It looks like it's working out for both Manny and Jason so far, but I'm guessing The Sawx are going to be much happier than the Dodgers in the long run.
