U.S. politician and businessman Donald Rumsfeld set an interesting record in the U.S. governmental history: the youngest and the oldest Secretary of Defense. He became the youngest person at the position (43 years old) under President Gerald Ford in 1975 and the oldest (74 years old) under President George W. Bush in 2001. Donald Rumsfeld is also the first to have held the position of Secretary of Defense for two non-consecutive terms.
